Jason Clarke is the male reader and does a credible job sans any sort of Southern accent, even a hint. It is an interesting and fun experience to read or listen to one of these books. There are always children in the books as well despite the fact the stars of the series have barely begun having their own. The book shines because of the hot sex but also because of the animal rescues and how the animals are used as more than objects to be looked at, like as support animals. There are spots where the original used certain phrases to help the reader keep track of who was speaking, which became repetitive in the audio version. This book is as adorable as all of Nicholas' books but not as well suited to audio as some of the others. When things calm down they both join a group going further into damaged territory to help with the cleanup and rescue animals. Later, that night in the barn, it turns out she is not the only one interested. She is as in to the animals as she is Donovan.
